Humanity Helping Sudan.

He is one of my residents and a true inspiration. He is founder of Humanity Helping Sudan, a project to bring better Water, Education, Health and Aid to the people of Sudan, where struggle is a constant. He is from Sudan and is one of the Lost Boys of Sudan. He goes by 'Keat' but his actual name is Manyang, which means a mixture of colors. I interpret his name as he carries a color of each person he meets and that fuels his love for helping other people and devoting his life to helping everything and everyone he cares about. I value him as a human being and hopes that his message is spread, because it more than deserves it.Geniet-

Was Avatar The United States Idea Of A Stimulus?

I mean, seriously! Think about it, investing $3 billion in a wildly simulated movie while we're fighting hitting the debt ceiling, government shutdown, sexually charged politics and a no job economy. Yikes. Talk about us as a whole getting our priorities in check. We invest $3 billion to this, knowing a large amount of Americans will go to see this movie, be mesmerized by the idea of a beautiful paradise while living in this horrible economy, war and chaos-filled world and expect a motherfucker NOT to kill themselves?I'm just saying, this is stimulus people! Wiping out a portion of folks so they're off the governments books and making way for new job opoenings! "All in a days work" as my pop would say. And, I'll leave ya with this, divertiti-

Music For Your Soul.

Shoes Of The Week.

Via LuLu's

The Qurán.

I work in property management currently and one of my residents is just, well, amazing. His name is Alhaji and he is from Sierra Leone; he fought the war for blood diamonds when he was just a boy and was brought over when he was 11. Alhaji lived in Brooklyn for his entire childhood into adulthood and was picked on for being "different" and "talking funny." He has been in gangs throughout most of his life from what he's told me and was raised Muslim. Now my description of him (at 29 years old) is a little different; He is one of the most beautiful, humble people I've encountered in a long time. His accent sounds like music to my ears, almost smooth and creamy in a way. I am inspired by hearing his uprising in Life to the obstacles that made him the person he is. He gave me his grandfathers own personal book of The Holy Qurán. I'm honestly afraid to touch it from the sentimentally rimmed pages of his family's values and beliefs. I am honored. I want to experience so many things in life. Knowledge is power. The ordinary is quite extraordinary. I am grateful, or atleast try to be.
